My Best Friend


Who doesn't love that face?

When you think about it, it really is a miracle Teetz and I have made it as far in life as we have, especially considering the ridiculous amount of time we've spent in one another's cars in the last four-ish years. We're both good drivers...when we're paying attention.
So Teetz and I could have died twice tonight.
You read that right. TEETZ AND I.

This isn't an old post, this is a current one, I just dropped him off not too long ago after finally getting to hang out for a while. But yes, TEETZ AND I. Lordy how I have missed that boy! He barely got in the door and I jumped on him, I haven't hugged him in ages! Stupid Seattle.

Anyway.

He bought me the cutest shirt for Christmas, it's silly and I love it. It's got four boxes on it and three have Elmo in them and one has a Nebraska N and it says , "One of these things is not like the other..." and I think it's awesome. Then I felt bad because I didn't have his present or anything because this was kind of short notice but then I remember he never returns phone calls ever, so I didn't feel quite as bad, but now I finally have his address so I can actually send mail to him.

Anyway.

We went to IHOP for a late dinner after I got off work cuz let's face it, we love IHOP. We pretty much had our usual inappropriate conversations, just like old times. I swear, it felt like nothing had changed, it was pretty much like we did that all the time, just like we used to. Our waitress was heinous though and she was only to us, we could not figure out why. So we took the tabasco sauce. Just because.

Then, we're leaving IHOP and dumb me, totally didn't realise I was in the lane the ended very very quickly. Teetz pointed it out, thank goodness. Okay, we wouldn't have died there most likely, though my car might have.

Then, we're coming up to the intersection of 27th and Cornhusker and la-di-da I am just trucking along because the green arrow changed for us so me, not paying attention, accelerates. Alas, I was not in the turn lane. Teetz calmly says that our light is red. Seriously. The first time he's ever been calm ever when I am about to do something stupid. Thank goodness I had my brakes fixed finally or we would have definitely been in the middle of the intersection.

We came back and watched our favorite episodes of Friends - first, the Thanksgiving one with Brad Pitt, then the Thanksgiving one where Monica's parents find out she is living with Chandler. Those are definitely among our favorites.

Of course time passed too quickly, but we had fun and we laughed...I haven't laughed that hard in a long time when we looked back on all our driving adventures. My sides actually hurt from the laughing, it felt good to laugh like that. And besides, I definitely needed that.

It wouldn't be complete though without a self-portrait. We've lost our touch a bit, since it's been so long since we've been able to take a picture like this, but this is the one that turned out the best:
